
Honoring the Legacy of Haiti's Empress
Laineda Dumerjean was born in the City of Dessalines—the cradle of Haitian independence, one of the country's key sites of memory and culture. Laineda left her hometown at the age of 12 but remain connected to her community. After Completing her Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 2014, she traveled back to her hometown in order to give back to the community that nourished her. It was while at the Hospital named after the Empress; Claire Heureuse Hospital the idea of this nonprofit was conceived.
Miss Marie-Claire Heureuse- MMCH is a 501c3 designated non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of marginalized individuals in Haiti through compassion and empowerment. We Strive to be a vibrant tribute to Marie-Claire Heureuse Félicité Bonheur Dessalines—the first Empress of Haiti—a symbol of courage, generosity, patriotism, and dignity. Our programs aim to provide essential resources and support, ensuring every child has the chance to thrive and contribute to society. We envision a world where every individual can achieve their potential, regardless of their circumstances.

Our Initiatives
Educational Support for Children:"Vizyon Enperatris Dessalines VED"
Understanding the critical role of education, Empower the youth of Dessalines to engage improving our hometown, encourage them strive for excellence. In order to create more professionals and increase women self-sufficiency through higher education and trade certifications we provide financial aid to cover tuition fees and school supplies. We promote technical studies such as nursing, IT-techs, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and sewing. Through this initiative we will be able to achieve sustainable change and progressively improve the lives of those struggling to break the cycle of poverty
Annual Gala:""Soiree D'excellence"
This elegant event celebrates the academic achievements of students across the City of Dessalines and its 6 communal sections. It honors valedictorians, recognizes the top "Lauréat des Lauréats" from national exams, and presents the MMCH Merit Scholarships for an unforgettable evening of live music and gourmet cuisine.

Honoring the three longest-serving teachers in Dessalines is a phenomenal way to build community and celebrate local heroes
Agricultural Initiative " ASAD - Ann Sipòte Agrikilti Dessalines"
We know that hunger affects concentration, memory, mood, and motor skills, all of which a child needs to be able to be successful in school. In response to the food crisis that have left more than 700,000 Haitian children going to bed hungry, we have lunch the student agriculture project aiming to educate and train local farmers. This program partners with local Agronomist to train the next generation of farmers. Our students receives a Certificate and mentorship opportunities to create a viable business plan. Through guided mentoring we assist our youth to acquire land to grow fresh food such such grains and vegetables.

Community Empowerment Programs
Acknowledging the challenges faced by women in the workforce, we have created programs that offer small business strategy training and funding assistance opportunities. Our aim is to empower women to achieve financial independence and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
In response to the needs of our neighborhoods impacted by gang sexual violence, we have launched several community-oriented programs that focus on health access and awareness, Funding for STI Screenings and wraparound services. By collaborating with local leaders and volunteers, we are fostering environments where individuals can grow and support one another.

In times of need, we respond swiftly to provide aid and support to affected communities. Our efforts include collaboration with local organizations to ensure that relief reaches those who are most vulnerable, helping to rebuild lives and restore hope.
